How Therapy Can Help With Your Depression

Depression can feel overwhelming, but healing is possible – with the right support. Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and begin to feel like yourself again. Here’s how it can help:

  • Understand the root of your depression Together, we’ll explore the life experiences, thought patterns, and emotional cycles contributing to how you feel.

  • Learn tools to manage and reduce symptoms
You’ll gain practical coping strategies to navigate tough moments and regulate your mood more effectively.

  • Reconnect with yourself and others
Therapy can help you rebuild your sense of identity and create healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

  • Build emotional resilience
Over time, you’ll develop the confidence and strength to face challenges with greater self-trust and stability.

    My Approach to Depression Therapy

I take a collaborative, holistic approach to depression therapy – one that looks beyond symptoms to understand the deeper patterns beneath them. In our work together, we’ll:

Explore what your depression feels like and where it comes from
Identify negative thought patterns and self-beliefs that may be holding you back
Look at any unconscious or hidden functions depression might play in your life.
Examine how your relationships and attachment history impact your emotional state
Strengthen your ability to notice and hold onto positive experiences
Build connection and reduce isolation through relational support
Use simple goals or between-session practices if they feel helpful for you

What to Expect in Our First Sessions

In our first four sessions together, my focus is on getting to know you – really understanding your story, your relationships, and what brings you to therapy.

    Explore Your History

We’ll explore your history, childhood attachments, current relationships, values, and how you cope with stress.

Together, we’ll look for patterns – especially those that may no longer serve you – and begin shaping a path forward.

    Set Goals

By our fifth session, we’ll start identifying therapy goals together.

I’ll share my insights based on what I’ve learned so far, and we’ll collaborate to shape a direction that feels aligned with your needs, values, and intentions.

    Review & Iterate

This early work lays the foundation for meaningful, focused therapy moving forward.

I believe it’s important for us to check in regularly and adjust the treatment as needed, so it continues to support you in the best way possible.
